Students interested in participating in Track & Field at South High must tryout. Tryouts for the Spring 2025 season is Nov 18-21. Students participating in a winter sport can tryout when their season ends, usually early February.
Tryouts are 4 consecutive practices after school that are 60 minutes in duration and tests a students speed, strength, athletic ability, work ethic, and overall attitude.
Students that would like to tryout are encouraged to start getting athletically fit by implementing a regular exercise routing that includes jogging (20-30 mins), sprinting (4-6 x 100m) , and basic core exercises (push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups) several times a week.
